The Secretary-General of the Arab Islamic Council in Lebanon, Dr. Mohamad Ali El Husseini, met with the Archbishop of the Apostolic Vicar of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, where they discussed the current challenges facing the world due to the spread of extremist ideology.

 

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Humanitarian Brotherhood Conference held in Abu Dhabi.

El Husseini stressed the importance of the joint meeting between Islam and Christianity, especially as they are issued by a single message calling for peace and the consolidation of the concepts of tolerance and acceptance of the other as it is.

 

El Husseini said that his meeting is a brotherly and humanitarian encounter before it is religious, especially since the essence of the divine call is expressed in the words of Allaah: "O you who believe! We created you from male and female, and made you peoples and tribes,

 

El Husseini affirmed that the basis of acquaintance here is the harmony and brotherhood between all human beings. He called upon the Archbishop of the Apostolic Vicariate of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to activate the Muslim-Christian meeting and dialogue because it is an urgent need and its reflections will be positive for societies in promoting peace and tolerance
